I am still on a 'trying new things' kick. I've been eating differently, playing differently, acting differently. I wouldn't say I am a new person but, I'm definitely improving the old me! As I mentioned, I have been going through acupuncture treatments. I haven't noticed any huge changes in my body and mind. Unless you count the strange dreams I have been having every night!
All I know is, the second the needles go in, I am so relaxed and before I know it--asleep. $60 a week is totally worth it for that reason only. We shall see if it starts to change my every day life & wellness but, for now I'll take the cat nap once a week!
Another new change? I've recently become the next Laila Ali. Yup. I am a boxing machine. Every Tuesday and Thursday I attend a boxing and MMA gym and learn how to work it out in the ring with one of my best girl friends.
Let me tell you one thing: hardest workout ever. Let me tell you another: Smells like absolute shit.
I thought I was in OK shape, but boxer's shape is an entirely different animal. We condition for the first 45 minutes as coach says, "I can't teach you how to box until you're in shape." Thanks Coach, I'm sure that's great for my self-esteem!
Then, we spar, hit bags, do drills and mitts etc.
I can already see changes in my arms, and unfortunately a little in my poor paws. But, it's well worth it to get my ass kicked into shape twice a week!
And you're kidding yourself if you think I don't show up every week with pink wraps, pink gloves, pink Nikes...you get it. I ignore all the snide remarks and looks from the burly men wearing penis pads (I'm sure they have an actual professional name but, I like mine better).
Just because they smell like garbage cans and dirty cats doesn't mean I have to. Nor does it mean I will ever look like I would. So, get over it guys--the girls are here to stay!
