Holiday in the Sun. You know I love a good Mary Kate and Ashley reference.
Yes, I am finally getting around to blogging about my wonderful Mexican
vacation holiday in the sun.
Vacations in my opinion, are the best part of being an adult. Sure, I could save money for 'adult' things like a house, or put more in my 401K (are you asleep yet?) but, it's much more fun to be a twenty-something and see the world! When I left college, that was my goal. Travel as much as I can, as often as I can, to places I want to be. This Winter, I wanted to be in Mexico.
My best and I took a trip South of the border to hang out with the Chihuahuas and eat Churros. Actually, we didn't do either one of those things but-- what we did do was much better.
We ate, drank, sunbathed and laughed until we cried. We caught up on life, love, work and what it's like to be an adult. We shopped, drank some more, laughed some more and enjoyed every second we had in the beautiful city of Playa del Carmen.
I enjoyed our daily veg-outs by the pool. I also enjoyed the large amounts of Blue Lagoons, Mango Daiquiris and Coladas we consumed in the sun.
But, we weren't just bumps-on-a-log. Adventure was calling and we answered! We rode ATVs, jumped off cliffs into Cenotes and zip-lined in the jungle. I signed my very first contract with clauses regarding Panthers and poisonous snakes--check that off the bucket list.
We snorkeled in the middle of the Caribbean. Note to self: No more Shark Week watching if I am going to continue these types of activities.
I checked yet another activity off of my bucket list when I played with baby Lions and Tigers in the streets of Playa. That's right, I love animal print and the actual animals. It's an obsession.
But, it was a vacation after all so we did do a lot of relaxing as well. We indulged in the amazing food and drinks at the resort nightly. We danced to the diverse live music in the courtyard and then, indulged in a little more food before hitting the sack. It's unlimited! What did you expect? I swear we ate like we have never seen food in our lives but, I guess we got our money's worth (plus a pound or two on my ass).
Vacation could not have been any better and I couldn't have spent it with a better best friend.
