If you read my last blog, you clearly know exactly how I feel about Birthdays. I'm obsessed.
If my Birthday could be an entire year, I would be happier than a clam. Yes, I said a clam. Geeze, I am getting old.
But, unfortunately, a Birthday is only one day (or in my case--two weeks) of fun.
My Birthday began with the Indian's Home Opener! A few of my friends and I headed up to the Jake, to enjoy the game. Although freezing, and the longest game in history, we managed to have a fabulous time. I'm sure the Panini's and Clevelander before the game and Tap House after didn't hurt.
Then, my mom took me back to my hometown for an ah-mazing Sugarland concert. I'm not a huge country fan overall, I prefer more pop-country but, there is no denying Sugarland's talent. They put on the best show I have ever seen. Trust me, I've seen it three times now!
Then, a family dinner on Saturday brought my most favorite present yet--diamond earrings. I feel way too adult now, way too adult. But, I couldn't be happier--my mom has great taste, I'm sure that's where I get it from!
After too many bottles of wine I rolled into work on Monday (my actual birthday). I was greeted by my friends (co-workers) with treats to die for and the greatest animal cards you will ever see. If you don't know, I love a good animal card. A fat Bulldog? Priceless. A meow-ing Cat? Hilarious. A Poodle in heels? I die. Thanks to everyone knowing this little love of mine, I now have a collection of animal cards that laid down, could span the Earth.
I left work only to meet my girlfriends and gay for more alcohol and fatty foot consumption at Pancho and Lefty's in Stow. If you haven't been there--go. Order the Chicken ala Mex Spicy--it's God sent. My friends showered me with cards, vino, gift cards, candles, Starbucks and tequila--you know, the essentials in life. We laughed about the times we had in high school, and joked about how old and boring we've become. It was a great day.
Tuesday, my friends and I brought out our inner artists at Colors and Bottles. We piled onto a table at D'Vine Wine Bar downtown and let our inhibitions go on a canvas. We also let a couple of glasses and a bottle of wine go on the canvas as well, apparently we are the clumsiest group of people ever. Regardless, the artist was ever so kind in telling us that the wine "would only make our work better." (Spoken like a true Creative.)
Wednesday was spent with my coworkers drinking wine, and eating my favorite fries on the planet from Bier Market. I was one happy girl.
Are you tired yet?
Phew! Thursday and Friday I finally took a break and enjoyed my couch and relaxing with my animals to prepare for the long weekend ahead.
Saturday was spent at Gavin Scott, my favorite spa, with my girlfriends indulging in mani/pedis, massages and facials. We deserve it! Plus, you can't have a GNO without a little pampering first.
After the spa, and quick nap, I was ready for my first dinner at The Office.
The food was phenomenal, and the martinis were on par. Overall, a great experience. My favorites were the calamari and crab cakes. I would suggest sticking to the small plates and split a bunch of them--it's worth it to try the whole lot!
Then it was out on the town for an enjoyable GNO, which left me with a not to enjoyable hangover in the morning. But, you only turn 23 once right?
Until next year...
