If you read my recent blog, you know that I have signed up for a year of the monthly sampling service, Birchbox. I was wary at first but, after two boxes at my front door- I am wary no more! Five words popping up in my inbox have quickly become my favorite: "Your June Birchbox has arrived!"
The service is great. I recommend it to anyone who loves beauty products. I have proclaimed to you all that I am not a sample person. That hasn't changed. But, I am a beauty person. I love all things girl and product and each month, it's like a box of presents to fulfill my inner beauty-goddess has arrived at my fingertips!
This month, Birchbox and I got our inner Jet Setters on, with a box full of travel essentials.
Included in this month's box: Tili Bags, theBalm Cosmetics Staniac, Kelly Van Gogh Wonderlust Hair Colour Protecting and Illuminating Tonic, Clark's Botanicals Ultra Rich Lip Tint and LA Fresh Eco Beauty Nail Polish Remover.
Let's start from the top. The Tili Bags are so adorable I almost can't stand it. They are perfect for your carry-on and TSA approved. Not that you need another reason to use these adorbs bags instead of the usual zip bag but, FYI- they are much more durable than a Ziplock! The plastic on the Tili Bag is much thicker, making double and even triple use completely possible!
I am not a huge fan of stains overall so, my review of theBalm Cosmetics Staniac is pretty sub par. Overall, this is a valuable beauty buy as the stain works for both your lips and cheeks! Double use for your money sounds great, right?
My two favorite products in this month's Birchbox have to be the Kelly Van Gogh Wonderlust Hair Colour Protecting and Illuminating Tonic and the Clark's Botanicals Ultra Rich Lip Tint. The tonic is perfect for traveling. I've found that it works best after your dry-shampoo day to give your mop just the right amount of shine. It's not heavy, and trust me ladies, I am Italian--we are greasy people--it's the perfect amount of oil for your second day hair. Better yet? It protects your dye-job from harmful UV rays! Again, double use for your money--what's better?
The Clark's tint is a great gloss to keep on hand. My preference is to stick it in my gym bag. When I am makeup free, this tint seems to brighten up my entire face and give my lips just the right amount of color and look effortless. Also, it's not at all too sticky (one of my most important criteria when reviewing a gloss).
Unfortunately, or fortunately, I have succumbed to the gel nail trend so, the LA polish remover remains unused as of yet. But, once my pedi wears off, I will definitely be busting those puppies out. Besides, who doesn't hate packing that huge bottle of remover for those just-in-case moments where a chip occurs? These tiny wipes fit right in your makeup bag. Easy as pie.
Until next month...
