Katy Perry reference? Absolutely. What a beautiful 4th of July it turned out to be in good 'ole CLE.
My day began at Portage Country Club with friends and my Ma, of course. Am I a member? Absolutely not. Are my parents? Yep. So am milking this for all it's worth? Until the age 25 cut off, you bet your ass!
The pool was packed! Families, kids and lifeguards everywhere but--thanks to some early rising, we had no problem securing the perfect spot near the deep end with 6 chairs and optimal sunshine!
As the day drew on, we munched on great food, enjoyed some spirited cocktails and gossiped about life and love. It was exactly what I needed from a day off of work.
What's more American than snow cones, beer dives and margaritas?
Well, it was an American-themed margarita!
As the sun drained, we decided it was time to prepare for a cook out. Most of our pool go-ers disbursed to family events, picnics, fireworks etc. All that remained was three girls-- two of which are Blonde--and little old me.
Problem, you ask? Well, none of us are avid "grillers". Nor have we ever set up a grill, lighted a grill or cooked on a grill smaller than my purse. Three girls, a few 312s and an entire Miranda Lambert Pandora play list later and--we had a feast. What better day than America's birthday to conquer a challenge? If I had a red bandanna and jean shirt on I totally would have posed Rosie the Riveter style with our finished product.
Our grilled dessert. And, my very first Pinterest project!
It was a great way to spend the holiday. Surrounded by friends and family celebrating our freedom and how blessed we all are to live in this beautiful country!
Happy 4th of July! Thank you to all of those who have kept/continue to keep this country safe!
