Yes. There are two very important Fall/Winter season events that drive us Clevelander's crazy! The tapping of the first Christmas Ale keg, and of course home opener tailgating for our BROWNIES! Now, you might have to wait just a little for that Christmas Ale but, if you love Cleveland as much as I do, you are probably sitting in front of your computer trying your best not to throw up the Panini's pizza and insane amounts of beer you consumed yesterday in the wee hours of the morning.
I don't know why I think I am 19 again. I am not. I cannot bong beers, and drink from 8 AM to night. I cannot take shots straight from the bottle, and share with strangers (crossing my fingers not to get some form of HPV).
But for some strange reason, when opening day in the Muni lot arrives, I forget all of that.
The day began at Allison's house for a wonderful breakfast and plenty of mimosas. Disclaimer: I cannot say no to a good mimosa. So, I didn't and four or five later it was time to trek to the Muni lot for some serious tailgating.
I don't know if remembering to bring a cooler makes me extremely prepared, a seasoned veteran at tailgating, or a raging alcoholic but, there were plenty of happy campers when I rolled into Allison's house with "Blue Thunder" formally known as, my blue rolling cooler. We packed her to the brim and roller her all the way to the Muni lot.
This little trooper made it the entire day, and slipped it's way into countless pictures. It's currently safe and sound with my friend Melissa, ready for the next game. Our goal: Blue Thunder makes it the entire Browns season in one piece. I'll let you know if this is successful.
I seriously doubt it.
After a few additional hours of drinking, dancing and mingling in the Muni lot we headed off to the bars to catch the game. One cheese pizza, multiple gummy bear shots and vodka sodas later and I was ready to head home.
This morning, back on the grind, I was greeted at my desk by an email from the lovely hostess-with-the-mostess, Allison, asking us all if we are ready for round 2 in a few weeks.
Like a true Clevelander, I held back the gagging, kept my head up even though it wanted to slam to my desk and tried to stop seeing double of my computer long enough to reply "Absolutely!"
Cheers to Browns season my fellow Clevelanders!
