It is officially Awards Season people! If this isn't your favorite time of year, it should be. I mean honestly, what's better than seeing your favorite stars with the most rockin' bods dress completely unfortunately? Jealous? Me? Nah.
I have to say, the Worst Dressed is the entire reason I tune in to the Red Carpet. Lucky for me, last night was a hot mess. But, as much as I love to watch them fail, I revel in seeing an amazing designer creation paired with the perfect accessories and hair out shine the rest. So, let's start with the Best Dressed at the People's Choice Awards.
First, I am all about a gown. I understand that the PCAs are a less-formal awards show but, come on! There's a red carpet! Let's glam it up a bit. Although she seems to have forgotten the age old rule "Don't wear white after labor day" and we all clearly know she isn't a virgin (John Mayer, anyone?)-- she looks fierce in Ralph Lauren. And I never get over a turquoise and white combo.
I'll be the first to admit, I've never been a fan of this
meerkat I mean, celeb. But, she did the PCAs right. A fun sparkle, and an amazing color combo with those deep blue chandelier earrings were the perfect amount of flare and fierceness for a red carpet like this.
I hate pastel. You should know this by now. But, honestly, with the slim pickins' the PCAs left us, I think Kayley did the best job of putting together an ensemble. The hair, makeup, shoes, accessories and dress go perfectly together. She looks angelic and young and I love it!
Say what you want about this look being a bit casual--I die for it. I think she looks ah-mazing, to-die, perfection in Lavin. Ellen was trumped by only one leading lady...
My Best Dressed at the 2013 PCAs is Naomi Watts.
Yes, I live and die for most McQueen. This dress is no exception. Naomi picked the perfect formal, yet fun and fearless gown that a red carpet like the PCAs deserve. And check out her rockin' bod! She is one of very few people who could pull off this dress and she did it flawlessly.
But, like we Millenials never learned, you can't always win.
So, to the Worst Dressed we go...
Olivia, Olivia, Olivia. You have graced Maxim's cover in your skivvies one to many times to be wearing this frock. The hemline is awful, and I'm not sure if your a dreidel or a cake? Either way, whatever is going on below your knees is way too busy to be wearing such a heavy Loub. This was just such a miss. Show that body off girl! And brush your hair while you're at it...
We get it. Cut outs and slicked hair. Over it. Buh-Bye.
I honestly could have been such a fan of this dress. It is gorg Valentino. But, she needed a higher hemline, lighter shoes, studs for earrings and a serious slicked-back do. She missed, on all accounts.
Pink. Pink. Pink. Pink. Pink. Pink. Gross.
My Worst Dressed of the PCAs however, must go to Monica Potter.
Monica, what the hell are you doing in a Little Bo Peep costume pushing 45? This dress is way too young, too much, too pink, too really--everything for you. Let's age gracefully people!
My list of Worst Dressed could go on, and on. The PCAs were a breeding ground for awful Red Carpet fashion but, there's only so much time to blog, and I'm much funnier with wine.
Here's to hoping the rest of Awards Season redeems!
Until next time...
