The first week of November has passed and the first snow has fallen. Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and soon family and friends and the delicious smell of turkey, sweet potato and red wine will fill our homes from floor to ceiling. We will sit around a table with our families enjoying a delicious meal and being so thankful for the opportunity to do so. There really are just so many things to be thankful for this year.
I am thankful first and foremost for the things that sustain me. My job, my house, my clothing, my car. As so many others don't have these luxuries.
I am thankful for my mother's health, and the health and love of my entire family. Arguments ensue, differences arise but- family is lasting. Blood is thick.
I am thankful for my extended family. My roommate, my furry friends, the man friend and all others that allow me to forget often that we don't actually share DNA.
I am thankful for my education, and my continued education and the ability to constantly learn and grow and evolve.
You see, I am just so thankful. And I'm glad that the holidays arise to allow us all to reflect and remember what we have to be thankful for. Life is constant, moving and changing and rarely do we stop to look back on our year and remember all of our triumphs, defeats, love and loss, excitement and surprise.
So, what are you most thankful for this year?
