What a whirlwind of a few months it has been. Work was insane, life was insane and I can finally feel it winding down just in time to start enjoying the summer breeze, and many patio beverages. The snow is gone (let's hope!) and it's time to get excited, and get ready, for summer concert season! Yesterday, I nabbed tickets to my ninth concert of the summer. Yes, I said nine.
'YONCE AND JAY!
If you haven't already passed out-- keep reading. I am thrilled, dy-ing and dead over the fact that in mere months I will be sitting, no standing, screaming my lungs off "I woke up like this!" in Soldier Field with my girls.
Yes, I probably paid way too much for concerts this Summer. Yes, nine is an insane amount.
But to me there is absolutely nothing better than making memories in the sunshine with a cheap beer (or a ridiculously expensive Soldier Field beer) in your hand, Wayfarers on, dancing and enjoying the company of friends and of course, thousands of strangers. It's the experience that I wouldn't trade for anything. The best nights are always the nights I spend enjoying music with my friends outside, in the heat of summer.
You want frame-worthy photos? I've got them. Hilarious drunken stories? Check. Things I will tell my kids and grand kids about? Maybe when they are older!
So, cheers to the score of the century: Beyonce and Jay Z tickets. And cheers to the summer of concert fun that lies ahead.
