What a crazy summer it has been so far! And, I still have not one but two vacations with friends and family to take. It's been jam-packed with fun, friends and sunshine.
It's also been jam-packed with summer concerts. From Lady A to Miranda Lambert to Jay and Bey to Rascal Flatts and in just a few weeks--Luke Bryan. I have to say they've all been amazing, but nothing could ever top Jay and Bey at Soldier Field with friends for year "2.0", as we put it, of our concert girls weekend.
We took off to Chicago on Thursday to prepare for that night's event. A short drive later, and we were in my favorite city apartment with my favorite dog (don't tell my pups) and a few of my very favorite ladies. We caught up, laughed and ate cheese and pizza until it was time to make our way to the show. Soldier Field was insane and totally filled to the brim with Yonce and Jay fans.
After nearly getting killed for being smart enough to go to the empty side of the bar (#sorrynotsorry ladies) we headed to our seats to watch the magic unfold.
If you know me, you know I love Bey and Jay. They basically invented the term "power couple". I can't get enough of them and their fabulous yachting life. The show was to-die and I will never experience anything like it again but, I have to say- I think it's over. I'm hoping it isn't! But, trust me when I say, you could cut the tension with a knife. They weren't the "Crazy in Love" couple I once remembered.
And if the rumors are true, and he did cheat...GIRL BYE.
This concert solidified that she is Queen. There is no other. Her body is out of this World, and I'm pretty sure she spent the entire concert in a squat. It was magical.
After the insane, life altering and four hour long concert we headed home to get some shut eye. The next morning we decided lazy was exactly what we wanted to be and instead of going for the bike ride and yoga class that we may or may not have discussed, we shopped and stopped for champs and cheese at almost every block.
A few huge bags of MAC and Zara later, we were ready to dine with the FLOTUS. OK, not really but she was there the night before! The dinner at Sunda was so good. I highly recommend it. And please, anything Michelle Obama likes, we all should like obviously.
The next morning was reserved for nails and the most ridiculous carbed out brunch ever. A bottle of champs later, I wished I didn't have to leave.
But I reminded myself, there's always next year.
Reunited with my BFF Buck.
