Fall/Winter Fashion Lust List

This fall has been non-stop and with the holidays fast approaching, I don't see that changing any time soon. Between camping, seester visits and work—I am ready for the winter slow down.

As I sat down over the last week to begin my Christmas list, and yes I have a Christmas list, I realized there are so many trends I am obsessing over for fall/winter 2015-16.

I am obsessed with the Burberry Genuine Shearling Cape but I also live on planet Earth so this option from Nordstrom is affordable and adorable.

When Lady Gaga entered the room in American Horror Story in her red caped gown, I knew I needed one. My selection may be a bit more practical, but you're kidding yourself if you think I wouldn't jump at the chance to wear a red caped gown in my day to day life.

Bomber Jackets.

Tom Cruise circa Top Gun, not crazy jumping on Oprah's couch. I love the bomber jacket. Personally, I see it as a replacement for the black or camel blazer over your New Years Eve dress or with destroyed denim and a white tee running around town. Get one, now. You won't regret it! I love the LA Hearts option above from PacSun as well as this black Banana Republic staple

Stone and Crystal.

I die for Olivia Palermo's Guest Bartender on BaubleBar. That Occult Collar? Gimme. I've always loved stone incorporated into my wardrobe as I am a bit bohemian, but if you're not sure just yet—try this adorable Lapis Blue Ring, Lapis Tassel Earrings or the Ombre Pyrite Collar Necklace for starters. You'll be rocking the crystal collar before you know it, and I'll be cheering from the sideline.

Cross body bags.

Small bags are STILL in. As much as I'd hoped we'd go back to the oversized tote for every occasion, we are still seeing the fashion world embrace the smaller is better bag trend. But, lucky for us ladies, there are so many adorable new additions to select from. I'm seriously lusting after the Gucci Soho Leather Crossbody Bag, but love this adorable Prada option as well.

For me, fringe has never left. In terms of my style, I love to incorporate fringe into an overall bohemian look. However, over the last few years, it's been more of a leather look in my wardrobe. This year, suede fringe is all the rage. I am obsessed with this navy suede fringe jacket from Nordstrom. I literally get giddy thinking of fringe! Ah!

What girl doesn't love a little glitter? I love this metallic trend...in moderation. The metallic/glitter dresses, suits etc. are a bit too much for me personally, but if you love it then rock it. I love this pant option from H&M. Perfect to incorporate the trend but not over the top. Want to stick with black denim and make it casual? Try this v-neck tank in silver.

I can't wait to start holiday shopping, you know it comes with my own surprises as well! What are your favorite trends this fall/winter?

Pose Cleveland

If you know me, you know I am a huge fan of yoga.

Three years ago I found myself at Bikram Yoga Cleveland and it was the best thing I have ever done for my body and mind. Those 90 minutes have become an essential part of my routine and when I'm without it, I really begin to struggle.

Occasionally, I'll visit a yoga studio for a little hot flow. It's very different than Bikram but I find it equally challenging and a great way to work new muscles (especially in my upper body).

A few weeks back, a friend and I heard about a new hot yoga studio opening in the Bingham downtown. They were hosting a little fundraiser for a great cause so we decided this was a great opportunity to check it out.

Pose Cleveland is an amazing little hidden gem within the Bingham.

All you need to do is walk into the space to feel the energy and vibes. Dark, industrial, calming. The exposed ceilings coupled with live edge wood pieces and soft white rugs make for the perfect yoga vibe.

There are two rooms, one heated. I've visited a handful of times since the fundraising event and I love it! The Power Flow class is really challenging and also extremely relaxing. All of the instructors are so talented and extremely willing to help you push yourself but also encouraging of us all to be mindful of where we are that day.

Overall, it's a fabulous yoga option downtown and one that I'm so happy to have found.

Pose Cleveland also has fab specials including $99 a month for unlimited classes- and trust me, you'll want to go daily!

Even better, on Fridays each week they'll be hosting a happy hour with complimentary wine and beer after the 4:30-5:30 PM class. Yoga and booze? Heaven.

Drop in, take a class and let me know what you think. You won't be disappointed!

I'm Officially a Member of the Plastics

And on Wednesdays, we wear pink.

I went under the knife.

OK. Not really. But, I did dip my toe into the world of plastic surgery.

Disclaimer: Now, before you all gasp, tell me I was beautiful before and that I shouldn't have done a thing—save your breath. Let's support women, men, whomever that wants to do something for themselves, improve something they've disliked or raise their self-confidence a bit. Shaming is not allowed here.

So, what did I do?

Botox and Juvederm. Basically, getting rid of a few forehead wrinkles, and adding pout to my lips.

Why did I do it?

Well, if you know me, then you know I have seriously terrible RBF (resting bitch face). It's a real problem. I scowl when I'm digesting someone's words and I sit way too close to my computer (without my glasses of course—because why would someone ever wear the Ray-Bans they purchased for too much money to see, to actually SEE) and focus so hard on the countless lovely emails I receive in a day.

The Botox got rid of a line on my forehead that was really bothering me and it works in amazing preventative ways. If you can limit the repetitive gestures (scowling, etc.) that eventually cause you wrinkles, you might not even get them in the first place and you certainly won't make them deeper!

Now, to the lips. I have always hated my thin lips. When I smile, my upper lip is completely gone and it drove me crazy! So, I decided to do a bit of Juvederm. 3 CCs to be exact in my upper lip, and just a few pinches in my lower.

What's the process like and does it hurt?

The process is different for everyone. When you arrive, you're given a consultation and photos are taken. Then you visit a room, fill out a bit of paper work and prepare to be numbed up.

So does it hurt? No! A numbing cream goes on before your Botox and you're given a nerve block in your gums for your filler. So, a few pinches and then you feel nothing else at all!

Botox was one and done. So, I won't be back for that until next year. However, lip filler is a building process to keep it natural looking and bump-free. I've visited three times, and received 1 CC of Juvederm each time. Now, I'm done for about twelve months.

The Botox starts to work its magic within five days. You'll never even notice a mark. However, the filler—man was I bruised! I'll spare you the really bad photos but, be prepared to look a little crazy for a few days after. Within three days, the bruising was gone, swelling was gone and everything looks fabulous.

The best. look. ever. Numbing up for the needles.

The best. look. ever. Numbing up for the needles.

A bit of bumps and bruising. All which will go away in 3-4 days.

A bit of bumps and bruising. All which will go away in 3-4 days.

Where did you go to do this?

My Uncle Richard Gentile, MD. is an amazing Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon, Internationally recognized. He travels from offices in Youngstown, to Akron and Cleveland.

Here's where I tell you—do NOT buy a Groupon for filler, Botox or the like. If you're planning on getting some work done, go to the experts. My uncle specializes in FACIAL plastics. As in, the face. You wouldn't go to your veterinarian to get your gull bladder removed so you sure as hell shouldn't go to your dentist to get Botox in your face. Kapeesh?

Is it expensive?

A little. But if your interested in exact costs, call the office (of your chosen doctor or my fabulous uncle) and consult- they'll be happy to tell you what you might be looking at in terms of investment.

What's the maintenance?

For someone like me, in my later twenties, the Botox is less-frequent at around every six months. You will be able to tell when it starts to wear off to make another appointment. Fillers however can last over a year!

Can you move your forehead?

Yes. This is my favorite question. Conservative is key and my uncle is the King of it. You should be able to make expressions, move your forehead and not look like the Kylie Jenner lip challenge at the end of all of this. A good doctor knows which muscles to inject on your face so your expressions remain.

So what's next?

Nothing. This is maintenance and something that I really wanted to to for myself this year. There's a lot I'd probably love to get done someday (after children, in my late 50's etc.) but, I'm well-aware that it's just not necessary right now. Gracefully aging will be my goal, but I'm all about looking and feeling my best on the way.

So, if you're looking to make a few little improvements, call my uncle at Gentile Facial Plastic and Aesthetic Laser Center and he'll be sure to take care of you in the best possible way.

If it's not for you yet, or ever, that's fine too! We all have to be our most-fabulous selves, whoever and however that may be.

Before touching anything. After 1 and 2, still swollen & to-date.

Until next time...

YSL VoxBox

I was recently given the opportunity to try two brand new YSL products through Influenster. If you haven't signed up for this site, you should. I've found a few of my favorite products through receiving these amazing little packages and trying some on for size!

This however, was the holy grail of all VoxBoxes. YSL. As In Yves Saint Laurent. As in, my poor advertising-salaried self cannot afford to outfit my body nor my face in this shit.

But all of that changed when a beauteous box arrived on my doorstep.

I tried two products. The Touche Eclat Blur Primer (try and say that, I dare you) and the Touche Eclat Blur Perfecter.

This primer you guys. This primer will make your skin feel soft as a baby's bottom. Not to mention, it illuminates your skin tone and starts to even out any discoloring. The softness comes as a result of being formulated with 4 amazing oils—corn oil, apricot kernel oil, passiflora oil, and rice bran oil—but there is no greasy residue...at all! I have very sensitive skin and tend to break out from primers (Smashbox...I'm looking at you!) but this primer went on smooth and kept me looking great all night long with no breakouts the next few days. Overall- worth every penny of $52.00 if you can swing it.

No makeup selfie. If you could touch my skin, OMG. A more even tone, soft and ready for make up!

The Touche Eclat Blur Perfecter. This product is so bizarre, but in the best way possible! It transforms from a balm to a powder upon application. I call this a serious bang-for-your-buck product. You can use this product as a primer, makeup setter or, during the day to remove oil and shine. I tried this product as an oil-remover for my afternoon grease. It was fabulous! Removed the oil, made my skin all sorts of soft and didn't disturb my makeup. This perfecter only comes in one shade, and due to my darker skin I didn't notice the rosy glow many of the reviewers mentioned, but if you were a little bit lighter- I'd say this is the perfect product to put on when you're going makeup free to the store or coffee shop.

Before (Left) A bit greasy on the nose, a little dark under eye and After (Right) a little more color, smooth and no grease!

Before (Left) A bit greasy on the nose, a little dark under eye and After (Right) a little more color, smooth and no grease!

Overall, although I am obsessed with the primer, my final recommend would be the YSL Blur Perfecter. It's three products in one, and that makes up for the steeper price. I love, love, love it! Stop by and grab it today, you won't regret it. It's the like the little compact that could! So small, so mighty.

Happy shopping :)

Blogger Disclosure: I was given these amazing YSL products for FREE via Influenster in exchange for my opinions and review. Regardless, they are the BOMB and everything, as always, is my 100% authentic opinion.

You're welcome for that epic hashtag.

Before the Fourth of July festivities and fireworks, I spent a weekend in Nashville with a few fabulous girlfriends to celebrate the marriage of one beautiful bride. Kara is getting married in under two weeks. I can't believe it!

To celebrate, we boarded a Southwest airplane (THE BEST. Thanks for the complimentary booze at 7 AM) and arrived in Music City.

From the second we arrived, the party was on. We stopped at an airport bar, who denied us our god-given right to hard liquor at 8 A, and gave us beer instead to wait for another friend to arrive. One complimentary drink, one expensive airport beer (and public shaming) later and we were off to the city.

Beer numero uno.

Our first activity (besides decorating the condo via VRBO like a Pinterest-dream) was the Pedal Tavern.

You Guys.

If you go to Nashville, get on the Nashville Pedal Tavern. It was so much fun. You pedal around the city (or, your friends do, and you simply watch and scream profanities at them when they don't pedal hard enough if you're too short to pedal yourself) and drink. BYOB. We stopped at a few bars that had great shot deals in partnership with the Pedal Tavern and of course, sang and listened to live music. We played a game of flip cup on the tavern, Honky Tonk and Red Light Special and belted Miley Cyrus Party in the USA. I mean, her dad is Billy Ray. It only felt right.

Three hours later we were back at the condo, liquored up, laughing, screaming to songs and pulling ourselves together to go out. I have no idea how we managed to look presentable but, luckily Jack's BBQ doesn't care either way! This place looks like a hole-in-the-wall but, is so amazingly-good. No reservation needed, cafeteria-style delicious-ness.

(Blogger Note: Being a vegetarian in Nashville is apparently weird. And, when you go to BBQ joints, they will scoff at your ordering of a "Veggie Plate" or a plate of entirely Mac N' Cheese.)

After dinner we hit up the bars on Broadway. You cannot go anywhere, at any time of day in Nashville without hearing and seeing live music. It's an amazing thing. So much talent in one small area, it's like a free concert every hour of your day and personally, I couldn't get enough!

The next morning, I was hurting. The ladies woke up for 10 AM yoga at Acme Feed and Seed. Yoga. At 10 AM. I wanted to die. After my first Downward Dog, I knew it was all over. I laid in Savasana and researched a little company called "Recovery Room Nashville."

Rough. The struggle was so real.

Rough. The struggle was so real.

(Blogger Note: I would have really enjoyed yoga on the rooftop bar if I hadn't been an idiot and drank my body weight in drinks, not slept, and thought I was 21 again the night before. The view was beautiful and the teacher was adorbs. It's a great option when in Nashville.)

A delicious brunch (that I did not eat) at The Southern and an uncomfortable cab ride (trying not to puke) later, my Queen Amanda arrived. I'll call her that because, she literally saved my life.

Recovery Room Nashville is a service that you contact to order an IV of fluids and medicines/vitamins to rid you of your hangover blues. There are multiple packages, I chose the middle of the road while the other ladies grabbed the basic. A few dramatic screams later, we were all hooked up in the middle of our condo's living room sucking up fluids to cure the disgusting hangovers we'd acquired on Friday night. And by we, I mostly mean me.

Me. In all my hungover attractive glory. 50 minutes later, I was on top of the World.

Me. In all my hungover attractive glory. 50 minutes later, I was on top of the World.

Hand to God, after my IV was finished I felt like I could run a marathon (but we all know I couldn't have)! My headache and nausea was immediately gone and I was ready for Round 2. If you're ever in Nashville look up these adorable, smart and successful ladies because they will turn your life around in a minute.

Dinner on our last night was at Husk. It doesn't get more hipster than Husk. Really. But it was an amazing meal, the service and setting was in-sane and the wine and champs were fabulous. All the delicious ingredients are locally sourced and the flavors just pop! If you're interested in visiting when you're in town- be sure to make a reservation far in advance. It's a city hot spot!

After dinner, we hit up Broadway again. Dancing at Tootsies, listening to amazing live music, and people watching. At the request of the bride, we kept the penises to a minimum and opted for pins instead.

The next day, we boarded a plane back to #CLE. All a little less put together, a little depressed but with a lot of amazing memories.

And, in four weeks, I get to do it all again with another beautiful bride! See you soon, Amanda at Recovery Room!
